Ascending Pomodoro
This policy describes how Ascending Pomodoro ("the app," "we," "our") handles information when you use it on Android, iOS, or the web. It's written to be read by anyone using the app, not just legal teams — if anything below is unclear, contact us using the details in Section 9.
Everything the app needs to function is created by your own use of it and saved locally, using your device's standard on-device storage (AsyncStorage). None of it is transmitted to us or to any third party as part of normal use.
| What | Examples | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Timer sessions | Start/end time, duration, focus vs. break, completion % | On-device only |
| Statistics | Daily/weekly totals, streaks, achievements, productivity score | On-device only |
| App settings | Theme, sound and notification preferences, custom timer durations | On-device only |
None of this data identifies you personally — there are no names, emails, or account identifiers attached to it, because the app never asks for any.
The app does not collect, request, or have access to:
Each permission exists to power a specific, visible feature — never for data collection:
| Permission | Why it's requested |
|---|---|
| Notifications | To alert you locally when a focus session or break ends, and for optional daily reminders — scheduled entirely on your device, never sent from a server |
| Vibrate | Haptic feedback when you interact with timer controls, if enabled in Settings |
| Foreground service / exact alarm (Android) | Keeps the timer accurate and lets session-end alerts fire on time, even while your device is locked |
Settings → Export Data lets you save a JSON copy of your history and settings and share it using your device's own share sheet — for example, to back it up in your files or email it to yourself. That file is created and sent entirely by you; we never see it, receive a copy of it, or have any way to access it. Settings → Import Data lets you load a previously exported file back into the app the same way.
The app does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. It is built with Expo and React Native, open-source frameworks that run entirely on your device and do not phone home on our behalf.
The operating system itself (Android/Google Play Services, or iOS) may collect standard diagnostic data under its own privacy policy — that collection is controlled by Google or Apple, not by us, and is outside this app's code.
Your data stays on your device for as long as the app is installed. You're always in control of it:
Ascending Pomodoro is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a revised effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
